Patient Participation Group (PPG)
What is a Patient Participation Group?
Our Patient Participation Group (PPG) is made up of volunteer patients, carers, and practice staff who meet to discuss the services we provide and how we can improve them. The group gives patients a voice in how the practice is run and helps us make sure services meet the needs of our community.
What does the PPG do?
-
Provides feedback on patients’ experiences.
-
Works with the practice to improve services.
-
Helps shape health information for patients.
-
Encourages communication between the practice and the community.
-
Supports health promotion and awareness events.
How can I get involved?
We welcome new members at any time. If you are interested in joining or just want to find out more:
-
Speak to a member of staff at reception.
- Email the practice at cmicb-wi.wwgp@nhs.net
- Attend our next PPG to see what it involves.
You don’t have to attend every meeting if you choose to join our PPG.
Meeting dates
The PPG usually meets every month and there is usually a clinician present at every other meeting.
What has happened at PPG meetings recently?
-
A demonstration of our new online appointment system Blinx by Dr Charnock (Blinx is anticipated to replace PATCHS in autumn 2025).
-
Presentation by Alison Thompson who is the MacMillan Cancer Wellbeing Coordinator for Wirral.
-
Consideration of the NHS ’10 Year Plan’.
- A talk from the PCN Nursing lead describing the service available to patients.
Why should I join?
By joining, you can:
-
Influence decisions about your GP practice.
-
Represent the views of local patients.
-
Help improve healthcare services for yourself and others.
We are especially keen to involve patients of all ages, backgrounds, and health needs so the group reflects our whole community.
