Important Announcement – West Wirral Group Practice and Marine Lake Medical Practice Are Merging
West Wirral Group Practice and Marine Lake Medical Practice are coming together to form Links Medical with one shared goal: to provide sustainable, high-quality healthcare for our community, now and in the future. The merger is anticipated to be complete in November 2026.
Like GP practices across the country, we are seeing increasing demand for services, challenges in recruiting healthcare professionals, and rising pressures on general practice. By joining together, we can strengthen our teams, share expertise and invest in new services, while continuing to deliver the personalised care our patients value.
For patients, this means improved access to appointments, a broader range of clinical expertise and greater opportunities to benefit from specialist services and innovative healthcare, including expanded dermatology services and access to leading clinical research. Both practice sites will remain open, allowing patients to continue receiving care close to home and, wherever possible, from the clinicians they know and trust.
Our merger is about building on the strengths of both practices rather than changing what matters most. We remain committed to continuity of care, local access and strong relationships with our patients. By working as one organisation, we can create a more resilient practice that is better equipped to meet the healthcare needs of our community for many years to come.
Throughout this journey, we will continue to keep patients informed and work closely with our Patient Participation Groups to ensure that patient voices help shape the future of Links Medical.
If you have questions, we will be facilitating three drop-in sessions for patients, carers and relatives at Marine Lake Medical Practice and two sessions at The Warrens.

Wednesday 16th September @ Marine Lake Medical Practice 17.00 – 19.00
Thursday 17th September @ West Wirral Group Practice 10.00 – 12.00
Monday 5th October @ West Wirral Group Practice 15.00 – 17.00
Tuesday 6th October @ Marine Lake Medical Practice 15.00 – 17.00
